Two more Helles-style beers this weekend, both from the Bavarian region. The first is from a brewery called Starnberger. It had a really great combination of flavors. I’d say the overall taste was a bit “straw-like”. There wasn’t much of a lime/citrus note in it, which I’m normally a big fan of. But I really liked this one and think it’d be great during warm weather. It’s super refreshing and has a nice crispness to it.

The second beer is from the Oberbräu brewery and it definitely had more of a lime rind flavor. There’s kind of an initial flavor that dissipates quickly with not much of an aftertaste. An easy beer to drink for sure. I didn’t notice much grain type flavor compared to the Starnberger. It would also probably be nice during warm weather since it feels light.
