Some delicious new beers! The first is from the Paulaner brewery and it’s their Münchner Hell (or Helles). It tastes super crisp and light with almost no alcohol flavor. It actually doesn’t really taste like a typical Helles variety overall. It’s really easy to drink, but it isn’t watery. There’s notes of slightly toasted malt that sits in the middle of each sip.

Next is the Hofbräuhaus Traunstein Helles from the Hofbräu brewery in Bavaria, of course. This has more sweetness than a typical Helles type, in fact, I’d say it leans slightly into being a kellerbier style in terms of sweetness. It’s really smooth and mellow though with a plain grain flavor and a small amount of lime rind notes.
